Remembering September 11th.

While this particular September 11th was a day of excitement for us, because our sweet little boy is a month old, it is also a date in life that I'll never forget.  Ten years ago, I was a senior in high school and while I know I must have heard of the attack earlier, I distinctly remember sitting in Mrs. Larson's English class second block.  We watched the events unfold on tv and I along with most of the rest of the class gathered in the back of the room to pray.  I thought the world was ending and little did I know the world as I knew it was.  I don't think I attended class for the rest of the day and I remember waiting in line for quite a while to get gas with my mom.  At that time we just didn't know what was going to happen and wanted to be prepared as best we could.

Ten years later, this day makes me thankful for the freedom that I have.  Watching the tv coverage makes me so proud to be an American and blessed to know that so many people were willing to give their lives to help others and to serve their country.  If nothing else this day makes me think of all of the blessings in my life and all the things to be thankful for.

P.S. our little buddy weighed in at 10 pounds 6 ounces today!
