Poor baby!

Poor Andrew has a lot to deal with right now.  He is working on week four of a nasty cold, a third round of antibiotics for his ear infection that never went away (round two he was allergic to), a rash from the second set of antibiotics, top teeth that are coming in, and he developed a peri-anal cyst over the weekend.  We took him to the pediatrician Tuesday, who then referred us to a pediatric surgeon.  We met with the surgeon today, who drained Andrew's cyst.  We are scheduled to go back for a check-up next week and then will determine if he needs to have out-patient surgery to repair the damaged area.  The cyst needs to heal from the inside out in order to not have this happen again.  Apparently, this problem is quite common.  Andrew was quite the champ and the doctor said that he was the best baby he's ever seen!

Despite all of Andrew's maladies, we managed to have a great Christmas with both the Coberlys and Collers.  We are so thankful to have such great families and enjoy spending time with them whenever we can!  Needless to say, Andrew was spoiled, and we were, too!  Even Kinnick had a haul of doggie toys and treats.  Jeff's pick-up was entirely full by the time we were ready to head home.

What a difference a year makes!

One year ago we found out that I was pregnant and our lives haven't been the same since!  We were thrilled to find out that we were having a baby and I bought a baby name book the very next day.  Thus, starting the 9 month plan of reading every baby book I could get my hands on.  Our secret wasn't secret for long as we couldn't wait to tell our families at Christmas.

Jeff and I were just talking about how much has changed since then.  Not too long ago, we were just a twosome with only Kinnick to focus our attention on.  Not that we were party animals, but it is much easier to go out to dinner as a couple instead of toting around a baby.  Our house has been taken over by baby gear making us feel a little chlosterphobic.  Our time is not our own since everything centers around Andrew.  (Not that we'd have it any other way). :)

Not only that, but Andrew changes and learns new things on a weekly basis it seems.  I was just changing his calendar from November to December and it is amazing to think about what life was like even a month ago.  Within four weeks, he learned to roll over, got two teeth, was able to bring his hands together, and was able to sit up enough to play in his jumparoo.

We are so blessed to have such a cute and healthy baby boy!  He keeps up on our toes and we are constantly learning new things every day.  We just get the hang of the parenting thing and then he throws us a curve ball.  We count our blessings daily!

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

We've had our first official rollover from back to front with both parents in attendance to witness the special event!  Now, we can't keep Andrew on his back.  He gets to kicking those legs and rolls over all the time now!  He gets so honked off when he gets on his stomach though.  While having him be able to roll over is a new milestone, he doesn't lay on his back and play anymore.  Therefore, one less thing to keep him occupied so I can get something done.  At least we still have the Jumparoo, which he LOVES plus there is always tv to keep him entertained...(kidding).

We had a great thanksgiving with our families!  It was great to see everyone and catch up.  Andrew also got to meet some family members for the first time!  We were able to come home on Saturday night, so we got to go to church and hang out on Sunday as a family...Jeff didn't have to work..yay!  We got the Christmas tree up and some decorations, but the rest will have to wait until this weekend along with the massive piles of laundry from last weekend that still aren't folded.  I don't know where the evening goes, but I can't seem to get much done besides taking care and plaing with Andrew, getting dinner made, and getting stuff ready for the next day.  I must have had so much free time before Andrew, although I don't know what I did with it.  :)

Last night I got to go see Wicked with my friend, Marie!  It was awesome!  I would highly recommend seeing it if given the chance!
