I now have huge respect for family photographers. We attempted family pictures with both Andrew and Kinnick. Let me tell you, trying to get both a dog and a 3-month-old to look in the same direction was difficult. Plus, she had to keep making funny faces and noises to catch their attention while Jeff and I were both trying to keep up our smiles.
On a side note, Andrew's second tooth popped through yesterday. Hopefully, now we can go back to getting up just once at night! His little teeth look pretty cute, but I'll sure miss that gummy smile. He hasn't had it for very long. This morning he tried rolling over from his back to front and would have done it if he could have gotten his arm out of the way.

Two teeth and a roll!
Our little boy is getting so big! He's officially in size 2 diapers, 6 month clothing, and 3 months old! Last week we had a fussy boy on our hands. I looked in his mouth and sure enough there were 2 little white spots on his bottom gums. Yes, you heard correctly, our 3 month old is getting both bottom teeth. According to my mom, I got my first tooth at 2 months. He has been pretty good with short bouts of crabbiness, so far.
Last night, Andrew rolled over from front to back for the first time and promptly started crying because it scared him! I'm not sure he did it purpose as he was propped up and we can't count it as official since Daddy wasn't here to witness it :)
Last week, we put together the jumparoo and Andrew loves it. His head is still a little wobbly on his own, so he only stays in there for a few minutes at a time. He is starting to figure out the little toys! I'm looking forward to a diversion to get some things done!

Back to School!
The end of maternity leave has me with mixed emotions and it a bittersweet time! The first six weeks were really tough due to the lack of sleep, lack of routine, and trying to figure out how to live life with a new baby. Plus, it seemed like we had all the time in the world, BUT after that first gummy smile everything seemed to change, or it could be that he was sleeping for longer chunks of time :) The last six weeks flew by now that Andrew was especially interactive and fun. We were able to get out and about more and had adapted to life together! I'm so thankful that I was able to take 12 weeks off to spend with my punkin! I'd like to say that I'm learning to be more flexible and I think Andrew has forced me to go with the flow.
I spent Wednesday and Thursday mornings at school getting things organized and ready to go while Andrew was hanging out at daycare. Friday was my first day back to school. It was good to be among adults again and to have someone to talk to that talks back in actual words. Many of my students were happy to see me and I think we'll have a good school year together. I am glad to be back and I do love teaching. However, I did miss my little buddy. He was happily playing when I picked him up and had a big smile for me! He has been tuckered out and sleeping more than usual. I'm not quite sure what is different about daycare, but he is wiped out each day.
All in all, our first day went well. Poor Kinnick is going to have to be patient with us and has had to go outside by himself more than usual, but we'll get a routine going. We might have a few more take out dinners, but we'll get things figured out!

2 month stats
Andrew had his two month check-up even though he is closer to 3 months than 2, I assumed they just have to have their check-up during their 2nd month. He is 13 pounds 13 ounces putting him in the 72 percentile, 24 inches long and the 63 percentile, and head circumference of 16 1/4 cm and 60 percentile. Everything checked out great and we have a healthy little boy! He also had his first set of shots yesterday. Poor buddy screamed like we've never heard before. He was a little more fussy than usual, but also didn't get his normal morning naps since we went to the doctor and dropped stuff off at daycare.
Speaking of daycare, we visited yesterday morning and met the teachers again! They are so nice and helpful. I think Andrew will have a lot of fun playing with the other kiddos and is one of 3 boys. They were really thankful for another boy in the room! Our pediatrician even sent her kids to the same daycare, unknown to us, so that helped ease our minds a little. Andrew is going to start half days Wednesday, so I can go to school to get some work done and ease his way into the routine.
Friday is his first full day and my first day back to school. I'm a little excited about going back, but my tummy hurts a little thinking about leaving my little punkin with someone else. I'm thankful that if I have to go back to work that being a teacher is my occupation as it lends itself pretty well to having kids. It is only a few weeks until Thanksgiving break, so it shouldn't be too bad!
Since today is our last full day together of maternity leave, we are going to enjoy the 72 degree day and go for a walk with Kinnick. He'll probably have an adjustment as well since I've been home with him for five months! Oh wait...who am I kidding? He'll just sleep on the couch like he does every other day.
